Freida Fuller made a promise to her husband before he died that she would save the large trees at their Beaver Creek home. Frieda sought out TWC’s Paul Engelmeyer who introduced her to Oregon State Parks. In 2011, Oregon State Parks created a life estate for Freida and her second husband George Ehlers. Today, George at 98 years old is still enjoying and protecting the large trees. George and Paul are sitting on a bench built to honor Freida and her love of the forest.
