Artists Statement
I work out of my studio in Damascus Oregon, located in the foothills of beautiful Mt. Hood. I am a retired graphic artist still in love with printing, but in a new form, on clay. I love making buttons, pins, pendants, shawl pins and ornaments with a lot of fun textures. I also throw on the wheel, build slab pots, and make tile murals. I am in several yearly events that are fiber related and trunk shows in the Northwest. I feel blessed living where I do and for what I do. I thank all who have supported my clay passion.
Birds and turtles with Words Garden Art – I started making these birds with a positive word on the stake-part of the garden art because I wanted to plant something POSITIVE into the earth. Our world has so much negative going on I just wanted to put something out there that is beautiful, meaningful, heartfelt, and positive. So, each bird has a word like “Love” Be Happy” “Peace”, “Love Grows Here”, “Let Love Grow”, “Grow Beautiful”, and so on. Each bird is different like every person is on this earth. So, plant something positive or give something positive as a gift.
