The Wetlands Conservancy is looking for adventurous folks who can help us survey our wetlands for signs of recent beaver activity! You don’t need any experience, but a love of nature and getting dirty will make this volunteer experience absolutely delightful.
What: Train to monitor urban wetlands for beaver activity!
Where: Metro – Council Chambers, 600 NE Grand Ave, Portland, OR
When: July 14, 2018; 10am to noon
Individual commitment: We will train volunteers in an indoor setting July 14th, and then accompany groups on surveys in wetlands around the Tualatin Basin and Portland Metro area. Once experienced, volunteers may also survey in their own small groups! We are asking that participants commit to the training and complete three site visits to identify and document evidence of recent beaver activity. Bring your own friends or meet some during trainings and surveys!
