PUBLIC NOTICE SOLICITATION FOR BIDS
The Wetlands Conservancy’s Poole Slough Fish Passage Restoration
The Wetlands Conservancy is soliciting bids for The Poole Slough Fish Passage Restoration. This project is a component of a Fish Passage Waiver agreement between Oregon’s Department of Transportation and Oregon’s Department of Fish and Wildlife for fish impacts. The scope of the project is included in the Poole Slough Fish Passage Restoration Drawings and Specifications, Revised February 5, 2016.
The project is located in Poole Slough, a natural channel on the south side of the Yaquina River Estuary, near Toledo, Oregon. The goal is to re-establish natural processes and functions to provide self-sustaining unobstructed habitats for native migratory fish and other fish and wildlife species.
The proposed restoration project will remove most of a 1,400-foot-long dike to improve fish access to the extensive distribution of tidal channels at high tides and storm events. The project also includes excavating approximately 500 linear feet of pilot channels. The excavated material, which will become the property of the Contractor, shall be transported off-site to a suitable uplands disposal site. Principal work elements are to remove the dike using excavation equipment from a barge, haul the material into a Contractor-furnished disposal site, following all Best Management Practices and Conditions included in the construction drawings, specifications, and permits.
Contract performance period is six calendar weeks. Anticipated Notice to Proceed for the project will be July 1, 2016.
Contract Documents may be seen or obtained from the office of The Wetlands Conservancy, 4640 SW Macadam #50, Portland, OR 97239. Contact person is Esther Lev, Executive Director, phone 503-227-0778.
