    Fall 2020 Beaver Surveys

Beavers are amazing and important creatures. They are ecosystem engineers, building dams that create ponds and wetlands. The cool, deep water of beaver ponds can be vital habitat for fish, including coho salmon. The Wetlands Conservancy will be conducting surveys of beaver activity in urban wetlands this fall.

Note: Volunteers who intend to participate in beaver survey events must attend the training. Youth 16-18 may participate in the in-the-field surveys if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Field work is done in-stream and on uneven marsh terrain.

Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a volunteer with The Wetlands Conservancy at volunteer@wetlandsconservancy.org.
