Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering Events 2021

The Wetlands Conservancy relies on volunteers working together to maintain, restore, and survey nearly all our urban properties throughout the seasons.

During the late fall and spring each year we collect trash, maintain trails, and install equipment within our urban sites. Sign up for one of our November events here:

Beaver Survey Season
Beavers are great indicators and sustainers of wetland health. The Wetlands Conservancy collects annual data on urban beaver populations throughout Washington County. Trained community scientists log signs of beaver activity along creeks and streams between wetland preserves.

In 2021, community scientists logged 57 dams and 20 lodges throughout the Tualatin River Basin. We trained 64 people, performed 21 guided surveys, and covered nearly 32 miles of stream! Check out our observations here.

Our next virtual training will be in August of 2022.
